The patented Velcro design of Tie Safe cross ties & trailer ties "breaks" apart when under a panic load.  The really cool thing is that it's not really broken at all - the short end of the Velcro tether stays attached to the horses halter while the remaining long section stays attached to the wall or trailer.  This gives you an approximately 15" lead attached to grab.  Both cross ties and trailer ties feature a panic snap at one end and a solid brass trigger snap on the other.  

When ordering cross ties, most people typically order 2 for a complete set.
