| Coachman's Preferred Leather Reins |
A beautiful russet rein in high quality
12-14 oz. leather, only one seam per rein. Reins are hand rubbed with a special treatment to give
a smooth darkened edge and a supple feel. Comes with double keepers at bit ends, finger loop
at hand-hold end. Available in a variety of widths, brass or stainless and
plain or with stops ($8.50 per stop). Stops will be spaced 6" apart
unless otherwise specified. We recommend 6 stops per rein for a total of
12. Please come see us at our retail store, we have samples to help with your decision making. As
these are a custom order, please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.
To measure for proper width (note: nothing
beats coming in and trying the rein samples for proper width): Measure
from your middle knuckle to your upper knuckle on your middle finger. This
length will be the ideal width of your rein (round up to next size if you are
between). Some general guidelines:
- A size 6-6.5 glove is usually a 5/8" rein
- A size 7-7.5 glove is usually a 3/4" rein
- A size 8-9 glove is usually a 7/8" rein
- A size 9.5-10.5 and up is usually a 1" rein
