June 2007

Time Flies It amazes me that we are looking at June already. This spring has been just blasting by! I’ve been out on the road here and there giving clinics and doing a fair amount of learning myself. So far there have been clinics in Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New York in addition to bi-weekly lesson days in Martha’s Vineyard and New Hampshire. I’d like to put together a lesson day at Escoheag State Park in Exeter Rhode Island every other Thursday. Please contact me if you are interested. On the learning side I made the trip to Dallas, Texas for the ADS Licensed Officials Super Clinic. I’m happy to report that I earned my Combined Driving recorded judge status with the ADS. More recently, at the end of April I spent 10 days at John Parker’s Swingletree Farm in the little village of Wingfield, England. The purpose was to gain my certifications with The British Driving Society (B.D.S.) for Light Harness Horse Instructor (LHHI) and Assessor for all levels of certification. This was a fantastic trip full of driving and testing almost every day. Stay tuned for the Carriage Association of America to introduce a similar program to the B.D.S. In the store we have been adding new products every week. The thing that I like about it most, is that everything we have added is something that I use. If you have ever worked with me you know I have no patience for equipment that doesn’t work. It doesn’t matter if it’s brushes, polish, bits or harness. As far as I am concerned, all of us have a finite amount of time and money to spend on our horses. So when we are with them, it only makes sense to have the equipment that really works well. That doesn’t always mean the top price products, it just means the top performing products. Margo is getting really good at sleuthing out stuff that you can’t get at just any discount chain. For that matter, we doing a pretty good job of selling some of the stuff they sell for the same price. So, let us know what you need, and chances are we can come up with it.
